Pedis and Paychecks

You might have heard about a new endeavour the salon has taken on: Pedicures and Paychecks, but if you haven't, read all about them below! 

What are pedis and paychecks?

This is a combination experience of getting a pedicure while learning about finances and how to manage your money. Kim partnered with Catalyst for Wealth, who gave a financial presentation to clients while members of the glam squad gave them pedicures. 

Our ‘Why”:

We have noticed that money and finances can be an uncomfortable topic, but avoidance of the conversation can have negative and lasting effects on our lives. In a wave of self-care practices, Kim wants to highlight that it doesn’t just include the fun, relaxing salon experiences of nails and massages but also understanding your money and setting yourself up for success. Sometimes as women, we are also less experienced and not invited into conversations about finances, but through this experience we can become more independent and remove the reliance on others to manage our money. We don’t want our salon community to rely on their husbands and fathers to organize their money; we want to empower the women in our lives to understand their own finances. You can reach any goal you set your mind to with the proper planning and support, and this experience was our first time facilitating that support. 

Our experience:

The event went very well! The girls of the glam squad had an amazing time doing their services and joining the conversations that were created. The clients started out in that uncomfortable space of not knowing how to talk about money and ended in a safe, constructive, and informative space of money management. Kim loved the questions that were asked and the atmosphere we were able to create in the salon. The presenters from Catalyst for Wealth provided important information in an open and friendly presentation, and we think everyone left feeling a little bit more secure. We will be running more Pedi and paycheck events, so if you’re interested in reaching your financial goals, keep an eye out for more information.
