Patio & Polish
Another month, another event! In August, Kim partnered with Girl House Social to host our first patio & polish day. A group of young girls gathered and created their own press-on nail sets. Read all about it below!
Our experience:
On a warm August day, a gaggle of teenagers got together on the Eem Khao patio for some summer fun. Kim provided a charm bar, press-on nails, stands, and polish, and the girls got to work designing and executing nail sets to take home. The event also included a fun drink and some appetizers from our lovely host. There were 8 girls who participated and had a wonderful time. They were shy at first, but once they started to get to know each other, Kim could see connections being made.
Kim worked with Girl House Social for this event. They plan events for young girls to find community and safe spaces outside of school. Girl House is “a community built around confidence, connection, creativity, and belonging." They included a self-confidence section of the event, with affirmation sheets and esteem building.
Overall, the day went well, and it was a positive experience for the girls and for Kim! She has been focusing on mentoring, helping others grow, and building community, and she is excited and grateful to be a part of experiences like these.
Our ‘Why”:
If you have been following along our journey the last few months, you know that Kim has taken a small step back from working with clients and has been working on extra events, promotions, and collaborations. She has been enjoying creating spaces within the nail community for others to explore and thrive, and that is the driving force of this event. She loved doing the Nail Camp Club and wanted to change it up a little but continue to do similar things. She partnered with Girl House because it was a good way to reach out to our target audience, and we want teens to have a safe space and group of people they can trust.
