Did you know the beauty industry creates 877 pounds of waste every minute?
After the year and a half we’ve had of lockdowns the only thing that would bring me joy was nature. I came to realize how much more I can do to be sustainable. That’s when I found the green circle salon program. The program helps us recover up to 95% of our waste! We now recycle everything such as ;
Hair clippings - Turned into bio composite plastic used to make new products like recycling bins.
Excess hair colour - Turned into renewable energy
Metals (foils, colour tubes, aerosol containers) - Melted down into aluminum sheets/bars used to make car parts and bicycles!
Single use items (files, buffers, wax strips etc.) & PPE waste - Used to make clean renewable energy, and leftover ash gets turned into asphalt.
Paper and Cardboard - Used to make new paper products or cellulose insulation.
Plastics - Used to make new plastic products like shampoo bottles!
